Skyline Solar emerges from stealth - Silicon Valley / San Jose Business Journal:

Mountain View-based Skyline said it completefd the VTA system only eight months after getting its SerieszA financing. The demonstration plant is a non-monetary public-privatwe partnership, said Skyline’s CEO Bob MacDonald. “Itt allows them [VTA] to gain experience with solar technology, and us to have a site we can demonstrate the architecture powering a small portiob oftheir electricity.” The company said the projecft consists of a few dozen high gain solar arrays. VTA plans to make an announcement on May 15 in whichh it will disclose more aboutthe project. The compang said it raised $24.6 million in first roundf financing from of Menlo Parkand others.
It also said it signed a developmental contract with the federalfor $3 million. Skyline has developed a high gain soladr technology that it says deliver 10 times more energy per gram of silicon thantraditional flat-panel systems in sunny locations. It primarilyu uses less expensive commodity materials it gets from the photovoltaidc andautomotive industries.
